The Rally is held annually, usually in May alternating between the Southern Region and the Northern Region. It is normally a one day rally, beginning mid-morning and finishing mid-afternoon on the same day. Normally delegates can travel to, and home from, the Rally in the same day, though some combine it with a mini-break in the host town. Typically the Rally includes a keynote speaker, lunch and Probus business. Recent Rallies have attracted between three and four hundred delegates annually.

It affords Clubs and their members the opportunity to have a jolly good day out, to meet with like-minded others, compare notes with other Clubs, renew old friendships, to learn what is going on in the wider Probus movement and to contribute to its development in Ireland.

The Rally is hosted by a Probus Club or sometimes by a group of Clubs (see below). Please note that the occurrence of the Rally in any year is dependent on a Probus Club, or group of Clubs, volunteering to host it. Advice and assistance relating to the hosting of a Rally is readily available.
